TAP SUNDAYS

NORTH SYDNEY TAP CLASSES Evolution Performance Centre- THE TAP PROJECT

10am-11am Adults Beginner/Intermediate

This is a fun class with a focus on dancing to Jazz music. This wouldn’t be suitable for someone who has never tap danced before but only a few weeks in an introductory class would be sufficient to reach the level. In the future I hope we can offer an introductory class at the start of each term. The class is also suitable for our more “experienced and wise” members -I can adapt choreography for your needs.

11am- 12pm: Intermediate 13+ years old

Perfect for young dancers (13+) looking to advance their skills and for adults eager to challenge themselves. This class emphasises musicality and technical development.

As our community grows, we aim to establish a performance team and offer opportunities for younger members to progress into the Tap Project Company.

If enrolment allows, we may split into two groups to better cater to various skill levels.

We are gathering Interest for these classes. Please email thomas@thomasjegan.com.au for full details.

THE TAP PROJECT TOUR

Save the date! - January 2025

Sydney, Melbourne, Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, & Canberra

The Tap Project Tour travels professional choreographers and tap dancers around Australia to provide a unique tap dance experience. The experience offers the advancement of skills, access to the most high level of choreography, and a connection to a like-minded community of dancers.

The tour happens national wide every year in January. The mentors are different depending on the city, with Jack and Thomas Egan spearheading many of the venues. Workshops are for ages 9-17 with Adult classes available after the main event in only some locations. Students get split into groups based on level and they will take classes individually and together. The day will conclude with a performance by the students and the mentors! These workshops are designed for students who have done the basics of tap and wish to progress their skills but also for students that are very advanced who wish to be inspired and challenged.

As always there will be an emphasis on learning from Australian leaders in the art form of tap with a focus on musicality, technique, and appreciation for the culture and history.

Single Classes: $45.00

Full workshop: $80.00
